Dorothy Mae Wheeler, 88, of Coahoma, Mississippi, passed Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Dorothy Mae was born to Fred Wheeler, and Bertha Jean Wheeler, April 12, 1932 in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Dorothy Mae graduated from St Mary's Catholic School in 1949. She then furthered her studies at Alcorn State University obtaining a degree in education. Dorothy Mae found Christ at an early age. She married Walter L. Harrison in 1953, and they lived together in Coahoma. Dorothy Mae worked as Special Education Teacher until she retired in 2000. Dorothy Mae created a legacy too large to be condensed to merely a page.
Dorothy Mae is survived by 9 children: Barbara Harrison (Samuel Blackmon), Judy Harrison (Arthur Smithson), Parthena Harrison (Kevin Goliday), Earlest Harrison (Rosemary (Davis) Harrison), Felix Harrison (Trudy Ann (Brownlee) Harrison), Scott Harrison (Shirley (Flemming) Harrison), Jessie Harrison, Allen Harrison, and Lawrnetta Harrison. She also is survived by 32 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
