AUBURN — Dorothy M. Queen, age 86, of Auburn, Indiana, and formerly a longtime resident of Bryan, Ohio, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at DeKalb Health in Auburn, where she was a patient. Mrs. Queen was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan and St. John's Lutheran Church in Hicksville, Ohio, serving on many church committees. She was also active in numerous organizations in Bryan and Hicksville. She was a former member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where she was also very active within the congregation. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, to Sydney and Dorothy (Davis) Hope. She married Lyle C. Queen on July 31, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1998. Surviving are her children, Ellen (Tom) Noneman of Harbor Springs, Michigan, Renae Queen of Bryan, Ohio, Steve (Ann Marie) Queen of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Tony (Beth) Queen of Jefferson, Georgia; six grandchildren; one stepgrandson;10 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Gwen Queen of Auburn, Indiana; two sisters, Avis Truska, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Margo Garver, of Rockledge, Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Hope, of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharon Hope, of Huntsville, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia Lee Queen; one son, Michael Queen; and two brothers, Leslie "Cork" Hope and Fred C. Hope. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, with the Rev. Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Private interment will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Bryan. Memorials are requested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, or to the Filling Home of Mercy, Napoleon, Ohio.
