Dorothy peacefully passed away December 9, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born on October 5, 1925 and was raised in Yankton S. Dakota. She married her beloved Thomas L. Slattery on April 1, 1951, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her 5 children Diane (Richard), Carol, Thomas (DeLora), Joan and John and her 4 grandchildren Brianna, Deanna, Jonathan and Sidney. Her life was devoted to being a homemaker. She loved music and opera, and was very passionate about her plants and her garden. She loved spending time with all her family, especially at holidays. She was also a devout catholic and spent many hours volunteering at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was a dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all. The Rosary will be said Thursday, December 15, 6:00 p.m., at Herbergers Funeral home and the funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church at 9961 Elk Grove-Florin Road in Elk Grove, to be followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
