Dotries dedicated many years of her life to the University of Chicago Hospital, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2016. Her commitment to her work and her patients was unwavering, and she touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.

Beyond her professional life, Dotries was heavily involved in her community and church. She was a valued member of the church choir organization and found great joy in using her voice to uplift others in worship.

In her free time, Dotries enjoyed sewing. She had a talent for creating beautiful garments and took pride in her craft. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in all of her creations, and she found solace in the rhythmic hum of her sewing machine.

Dotries is survived by her son, Kelvin Johnson, his spouse, Roshandra Bobo, and her grandchildren, Dominique, Ryan, Kobe, Rashad, and Kyle. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her love for her family knew no bounds. Her legacy lives on through her five grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
