RALEIGH | Douglas Levi Harrison, age 51, of Raleigh, NC died Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Transitions LifeCare/Hospice of Wake County. Doug was born on October 3, 1963 in Kinston, NC. He graduated from Kinston High School in 1981 and then joined the Army where he was stationed at Fort Devens (MA) and in South Korea. After returning to Kinston, he was the owner of Eastcom Computers, operated Cardinal Cleaners in Snow Hill and then became the 2nd employee of Stay Online when he moved to Raleigh in 1995. He was still employed there at the time of his death. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Levi and Christine Harrison. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Catherine and their daughter, Hannah, of the home; his daughter Tiffany Harrison of Chicago, IL; his brother, Don Harrison and wife Sharon of Wade, NC; his sister, Cathy Buchan and husband Pete of Whispering Pines, NC; his nephews, Jeffery Harrison, Chris Harrison (and wife Megan), Daniel Buchan and Walker Buchan. Also surviving are Catherine's parents, Bobby and Jean Gardner of La Grange, NC. The family would like to express its sincerest appreciation to the Nurse Navigators (Jessie and Jessica) at Rex Cancer for their amazing compassion and to Dr. Uronis at the Duke Cancer Clinic who gave us hope. Also, we thank Stay Online, BASF, Wheat Swamp Christian Church, and the Catholic community of St. Francis of Assisi for their unwavering love and support. And to everyone who visited, called, sent a card, and prayed, thank you for letting Doug know how much he was loved. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, 1608 W. Vernon Avenue in Kinston, NC on Monday, March 30, 2015. The funeral service will be Tuesday, following day at 11:00a.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Lawrence Taylor officiating. Graveside rights and burial will follow after the service at Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Kinston. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the Gardner home in La Grange, NC.
