Douglas CurrierDouglas Joseph Currier was born on April 22, 1948 to Forrest and Marye (DeBauche) Currier. He married Charlotte Moeller on November 6, 1965 and graduated from Bryant High School in 1966. After graduating he went to SDSU on a football scholarship and then started his own plumbing business in De Smet, South Dakota in 1970. He most recently he worked for the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe while living in Brookings, South Dakota. Doug is survived by his wife, Charlotte; four children, Barbara (Rod) Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska; Sarah (Bernie) Hanson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Amanda (Jason) Willmott of White, South Dakota; and Thom (Kelly Phillips) Currier of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Seven grandchildren; Jake, Kaleb and Josh Anderson; Emma and Olivia Hanson; Gabby and Macy Willmott; one great grandson, Noah Anderson; and one sister, Joie (Currier) Truslow and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Marye Currier; a sister and brother-in-law, Sheryn and Tim Just; and one nephew, Jay Weelborg.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant, SD at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bryant. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
