HERMAN, Douglas GeorgeA Celebration of Life is being held at Floral Community Centre on Sunday, July 9, 2017 for Doug who passed away unexpectedly at his home in South Surrey, B.C. on December 24, 2016. Doug was born on November 25, 1953 to Audrey and George Herman and grew up on the family farm near Saskatoon. Doug and his family moved to the Lower Mainland in British Columbia in the mid 1970's. Doug lived in the Lower Mainland for the rest of his life with the exception of a few short-duration employment opportunities in England, Germany and Chicago, USA. Doug is survived by his partner Bonny Voice, daughter Amber Currie and granddaughter Ella Currie. He is also survived by brothers Jim, Cliff and Ted Herman and sister Janet Young. Doug was predeceased by his father George Herman, and mother Audrey Rystrom. Doug was a unique and special father, grandfather, life partner and sibling whose keen sense of humour, somewhat of a mischievous nature and sense of adventure have provided many memories and stories to be shared. His family and friends miss him so much. A short formal ceremony will commence at 2:00 p.m. to be followed by an outdoor social gathering and luncheon.
