Douglas J. GriffinSANDUSKY: Douglas J. Griffin, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday morning, May 29, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.Douglas was born on February 10, 1935 in Albion, MI to the late Edwin and Mary Marjorie (Andrews) Griffin. Douglas grew up in Park Ridge, IL and attended the Chicago Art Institute. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force. Douglas retired from Norgas Corporation in Ontario, OH. A lifelong sailor, he was a former member of the Sandusky Yacht Club and a lifetime member of the Amvets.Douglas is survived by his daughter, Kristina Baker of Columbus; son, Bryan Griffin of Whitefield, ME; grandchildren, A.J. Griffin, Amanda Williams, Haley Griffin, Bobbi Webb, Shade Webb and Sidney Truax; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Cindy Nolan of Indianapolis, IN and niece, Lisa Autry.In addition to his parents, Douglas is preceded in death by his wife, Gurli Griffin in 1982 and his son, Erik D. Griffin in 1988.Friends may call on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky.
