Our beloved son, Douglas Scott Eaton, 36, tragically left us on July 07, 2022. He leaves behind a large blended family that loved him beyond description. His mother and step-father, D'Anna and John Durham, his father and step-mother, David and Deborah Eaton, and his sisters, Claire, Kandis, Kimberly, Whitney, Brittney and Courtney. His dearest friends, his brothers Perry Moseley and Doug Branch.
But most heartbreaking, he leaves behind two beautiful children, Ryann (12) and Ian (8). Doug adored his children and cherished every single moment with them. Ryann and Ian were the light of his life. They loved rock climbing, golfing, watching movies, playing games and just hanging out together.
Doug simply loved life, he loved adventure, the mountains and most importantly, his family.
He loved fly fishing and the simple beauty of catching a trout with a dry fly. His casts were artistry and in a trout stream he was at peace and at home.
Doug’s quiet and patient nature also suited him well as a talented woodworker. Through his vision and skill he was able to craft beautiful custom woodcrafts and furnishings.
Doug also became an accomplished hiker, taking on the Colorado 14er’s with a goal to complete them all before turning 40. This was his third summer challenging himself with more peaks. He completed his last two peaks, Kit Carson and Challenger on July 5th, bringing his final count to 33 peaks. His plan was to always hike the last peak with his family to celebrate together. Next summer, his family will ascend that final peak together with Doug. Doug will become one with the mountains he so loved.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Saturday July 30, 12:00 PM, at the Trinity Lighthouse Church, 2915 Spur 503, Denison, TX.
A GoFundMe has been established for the sole benefit of his children.
