PAGELAND – Mr. Drew Ashley Atkinson, 80, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 2, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice.Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving Wife of 60 years, Mary Rollings Atkinson of Pageland; Son, Dr. Drew Ashley Atkinson Jr. (Penny) of Duncan, SC; Daughters, Debby Fincher (Bill Small) and Sherry Arant (Russell) both of Pageland, and Kelley Rushing (Phillip) of Unionville, NC; Special Daughter, Pat Foard of Pageland; Brother, Coyt Atkinson (Cathy) of Wesley Chapel, NC; nine Grandchildren, Kristen Arant, Kerri Rowell, Jarod Fincher, Steven Arant, Jordan Atkinson, Paige Fincher, Ruth Atkinson, Kale Simmons and Kole Rushing and two Great Grandchildren, Grant Rowell and Claire Rowell.Drew was born on August 2, 1936 in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Clayton Alexander Atkinson and Jo Etta Jordan Atkinson. He later met and united in marriage to Mary Rollings. Drew retired from Pelton - Crane in Charlotte, NC. Drew was a lifetime member of Zion United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his Brothers, Everette "Lee" Atkinson and Bruce Atkinson.A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor James Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family received friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Zion United Methodist Church in the Sanctuary.Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Mission Box or Operation Christmas Child, 647 Zion Church Road, Pageland, SC 29728.Baumgartner Funeral Home of Pageland, was in charge.
