Duane Scott Bell, 54, passed away on Dec. 12, 2016, at home in Anchorage, Alaska.Duane was born on Aug. 1, 1962, in Boise, Idaho. He moved with his family to Alaska in 1970. He graduated from Dillingham High School in 1980. He completed his Associates Degree at Alaska Career College in 2011. He resided in Bethel from 1970-1973, McGrath 1973-1974, Dillingham 1975-1982 and Anchorage 1982-present.Duane worked several years at the Anchorage Times and Alaska Laser Wash, but most of all he loved his 15 years as a truck driver in Alaska and in the Lower 48 states. He enjoyed history, reading, video gaming, Tae Kwon Do and Wednesday Family Night. He volunteered as a Football Coach for Pop Warner. He earned the "Alpha Beta Kappa Award for Leadership and Integrity" while at Alaska Career College.His family stated: "Duane had a big heart and dearly loved his family and friends. He loved being 'Uncle Boom Boom' to Joe, Melissa, Krystyn, Skylar, Greylin, Lawson, Cohen, Ashley, Travis, Adria, Austin, Andrew, Sigorney and Raymond."He is survived by his fiancee, Deborah Tharp of Anchorage; his mother, Diana Bell of Anchorage; his father, Virnel Bell of Colville, Wash.; his three brothers and sisters-in-law, Justin and Holly Bell of Wasilla, Alaska, James and Shannon Bell of Monroe, Mich., and Jeff and Karen Bell of Evans, Colo.Arrangements entrusted to Legacy Funeral Homes Bragaw Chapel.
