Duane C. Young, 58, of Piqua, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born July 8, 1964 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to the late John Farrow and Sylvia (Young) Lyons. His mother survives in Piqua. Duane married Angela K. (Laughman) Young; she preceded him in death on April 6, 2018.

Duane will also be missed and remembered by his children, Brandi Young of Piqua, Duane Young II of Piqua, Elijah Laughman of Piqua, and Isaiah Winston of Covington; four grandchildren; siblings Da’von Murray and Timmy Young, both of N.C.; special friends Garrett Smith and Eugene Edwards of N.C., and William Molette and Carlos Williams of Piqua.

Duane was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked for Evenflo of Piqua for many years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Chapel Hill, N.C. Duane enjoyed playing corn hole, bowling, playing darts, and grilling out.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, December 2nd at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor John Shelton officiating. Friends may visit from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Chapel Hill, N.C. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
