Duane "Whitey" Whiteman, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born on August 29, 1937, to proud parents Howard Whiteman and Helen Johnson Whiteman.
Duane married the love of his life, Marion Knighton Whiteman, in 1960, and together they raised two wonderful children, Karen Whiteman (married to Tim Donatelli) and Daniel Whiteman (married to Rene'e Whiteman). Duane was also a loving grandfather to three grandchildren, Anthony Donatelli, Kayci Donatelli and Brian Whiteman. Duane was a devoted brother to his younger sister Joan "Susie" Lake and Uncle to her children, Jacky, Judy, Jayme and Jim.
Throughout his life, Duane worked as a Real Estate and Carpet Salesman, retiring in 2010. He was an active member of the Jaycees organization where he built many lasting friendships. As a young adult, Duane proudly served four tours in the U.S. Coast Guard.
When he wasn't working, Duane enjoyed playing golf, camping, and fishing. He was always up for a camping trip and 18 or 19 holes with his friends and family. He loved to travel to warmer climates with his beautiful wife, Marion. Whitey was a masterful carpenter and woodworker who's esquitite pieces will stand the test of time.
Duane will always be remembered for his kind generous heart, infectious laugh, thoughtful opinions, and love for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Duane Whiteman. Your memory will forever live on in the hearts of those you touched. Via con dios.
