Dylan Hunter YoungAug. 14, 1992May 7, 2017Our beloved, Dylan H. Young, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on August 14, 1992 in Reno, Nevada.He is survived by his mother, Tracy Jones (Matt) of Reno; father, William Young of Las Vegas; grandmothers, Clara Young and Sara Peterson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dylan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lawrence Young and Irv Ballance.Dylan was a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, studying Mechanical Engineering since 2012. He was formerly employed as a CNC machinist at Aspen Swiss of Sparks, Nevada. He attended Truckee Meadows Community College, and earned his High School diploma in 2010 from the Academy of Arts, Careers, and Technology in Reno.While attending high school, Dylan won the state gold medal in Precision Machining at the Skills USA Nevada competition. He advanced to represent Nevada at the 2010 national competition in Kansas City where he placed 13th.He liked spending time camping, target shooting, skateboarding, traveling, and streaming games on his computer. He also enjoyed utilizing his engineering knowledge to design, program, and build small scale robotic projects. He especially loved his pets and spending time with family and friends. Dylan was a humorous, loving, and cheerful young man who brightened the lives of all who knew him.Dylan is deeply loved and greatly missed. He remains in our hearts forever.A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 West 2nd Street.
