It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of Dylan J Thomas Tackett, 21, of Portland, Oregon. Dylan was born on June 07, 2001, and left this world on May 24th, 2023. The day of his birth he was welcomed with loving arms by many. Through out his life he touched so many people within his community and had a huge excitement for life. He enjoyed all sports, playing little league every year (even if he said he was done the year before) and always gave it his all. He started playing football at the age of 7 for the Portland Saints with Pop Warner, and his love for the New Orleans Saints began. Dylan was a die hard fan that would defend his team with good hearted banter. College football was huge too. Watching the Ducks dominate made his day. He also enjoyed catching Blazer games. Using season passes to hang with his Step-Dad Josh, family or friends. He went to Franklin High School, where his love for football continued.
You could always find Dylan in nature. Hitting the Mountains to ski, hike, camp, and fish. Hanging at the ocean to surf, camp and show off his master crabbing skills. If there was anything else that was fun and physical he did it. Dylan traveled to visit his grandparents as much as he could, Rod Windle in Hawaii and Dianna Livada in California. His last adventure, was with his father's side of the family and included four wheeling in central Oregon. Dylan's grandmothers Rochelle Palmer and Tami Rambeau started an annual family tradition by taking Dylan camping at the coast, and since it has grown to include extended family and friends. Dylan always welcomed everyone with open arms.
Dylan loved to cook and aspired to be a chef one day. He enjoyed cooking for his family, and his family enjoyed being cooked for. His hopes and dreams always included his family. He is survived by his Mom, Holly Jackson, Step-Father Joshua Jackson, older brother Frank Trocha, younger brothers Dallas Jackson and Azure Windle, and little sisters Haley Jackson and Nehalem Windle. He was preceded in death by his father Jeremy Windle in December of 2022. The names above are just immediate family. Dylan's extended family includes an amazing community who happily participated in his journey through out his young life and you all know who you are. He was loved by many and will be missed always.
