E. Dean Foster, 98, formerly of Attica, died at 10:28 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at Cumberland Point Nursing Center, West Lafayette. Dean was born on Oct. 21, 1917 in Rob Roy. He was the son of the late Robert and Carrie (Pyle) Foster. He was a life resident of Shawnee Township and had graduated from Attica High School in 1935. Dean married Claudine Stucker on Feb. 15, 1941 in Veedersburg. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2005. Dean had farmed all of his life in Shawnee Township. He had also owned the former service station located at Hwy 41 and Aylesworth Rd. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. He had served on the Shawnee Township Advisory Board, Fountain County Liquor Board and was active in the Fountain County 4-H Program. He enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains & wintered in Winter Haven, Fla. He loved family and spending time with grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl K. Tuggle of Attica and Susan "Susie" (Sid) Raber of Bluffton; five grandchildren, Troy (Kimberly) Tuggle, Kimberly (Ginnette Dunwell) Tuggle, all of Attica, Christy Meisner of Jerseyville, Ill., Tobie (Ryan) Holmes and Zach (Erin) Raber, all of Ft. Wayne; and eight great-grandchildren, Burke Tuggle, J.R. Dunwell, Chase and Logan Meisner, Sydney and Bella Holmes, Ayden & Owen Raber. He was also preceded in death by a twin brothers, Faye and Ray Foster. Visitation and services were at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Sunday, Aug. 7 with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Contributions may be made to the Sterling Christian Church or Fountain County 4-H Foundation.
