EARL F. CHRISTENSEN HOBART, IN Earl F. Christensen, age 93, formerly of Hobart, IN, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016. He was born on June 4, 1923 to the late Andrew and Mildred Christensen in Hemitt, CA. He was the eldest of eight children. Earl is survived by his wife, Sylvia (his first wife's sister); two sisters: Norma (Rob) Wall of Raleigh, NC and Melva Christensen of San Juan Capistrano, CA; sons: Richard (Karrol) of Storm Lake, IA, Dave (Gale) of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth (Miriam) of Porter, IN; daughter, Karen (Paul) Oden of Graham, WA; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell; in infancy, Ernest, Cloyd, LaVerene; sister, Joann; first wife, Leona and son, Ronald. Earl was a member of the Elk Horn High School, Elk Horn, Iowa, class of 1941. He married Leona Farnham, April 30, 1943. He was inducted into the Army, April 2, 1943 and served during
WWII. Upon returning from the war they made their home in Audubon, Iowa where he worked for Thermogas Company for many years. He later moved to Hobart, Indiana and began Earl's Heating and Air Conditioning; a family owned and operated business. The business still thrives today and is presently located in Schererville. Earl enjoyed working in the business and taking care of people. He was a warmhearted, compassionate, honest person and lived his life to the fullest. In 2000, Earl retired and moved to Washington to be near his daughter. While living in Hobart, he was a member of the Hobart Assembly of God Church, where he actively served on the church board. In Washington, he attended Sound Life Church of Spanaway. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Bible Church, 824 N. Calumet Ave., Chesterton, IN with Pastor Ken Miller officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Youth for Christ, 232 Main St. NW, Suite 103, Bourbonnais, IL 60914. Arrangements are under the direction of
