Earl Gardner , 78, passed away on January 24, 2017 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on February 24, 1938 in Goodpine, Louisiana, the fourth child of eleven siblings to Walter and Druezella Gardner. After graduating from Goodpine High School, he proudly served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. Earl was united in marriage to Mary T. Washington on January 17, 1963 and they moved to Alamogordo in 1964 where he worked for Land Air which then became Dyn/Corp. He continued his working career with this company for the next 39 years as the name of the company changed to New Tec. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary; his four children, Debra and husband Kenneth Bowman, Robert and wife Theresa, Rodney and wife Tanika, and Lance and wife Lisette; grandchildren, Kenisha Rochelle Bowman, Walter Lewis Gardner, Kaimarcus Eugene Gardner, Emmanuel Artise Palmore, Tyus Kendrick Bowman, Khania Elisa Gardner, Mauree Lanice Gardner, Egypt Elyce Rhodes, Seven Zayin Rhodes, Roderyck Javon Gardner and Maurice Diyari Gardner; great grandchildren, Camron Jamal Gardner, Carmello Maurice Gardner, Kaimarcus Eugene Gardner Jr., and Kaden Elijah Gardner; his sister, Ernestine Tolliver; four brothers, Curtis Gardner, Melvin Gardner, Terry Gardner, and Ronald Gardner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Junior Gardner, Walter "Dub" Gardner, Willie James "Bill" Gardner, and Elbert Gardner; and his sister, Mabeline Bigby. The funeral service for Earl Gardner will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor James Forney officiating.Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.The Gardner family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.To sign the online register book, please visit
