Earl LindenfelserARMINGTON - Earl R. Lindenfelser, 93, of Armington passed away at 3:16 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born on December 11, 1923, in rural East Peoria to Adolph J. and Edith Giebelhausen Lindenfelser. He married Evelyn Spring on February 27, 1949, in Washington, and she passed away on December 11, 2014.He is survived by one son, Bruce (Nancy) Lindenfelser of Armington; four daughters, Karen (Terry) Komnick and Judy Pratt, both of Armington, Cathy (Jon) Schwarting of Mackinaw and Debbie (Mike) Zook of Eureka; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Earl) Brown of Morton; and one brother-in-law, Stuart (Jean) McKneight.He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Niki Hutchcraft; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Otto; one son-in-law, Joe Pratt; two brothers, Lloyd and Art Lindenfelser; one infant brother, Leonard; and five sisters, Esther Miller, Velma LaCost, Lillian Koch, Alma Steffen and Ulla McKneight.Earl was a member of the Minier Christian Church and a former member of Armington Christian Church, where he served on the church board as an elder for many years. He was involved in many community and civic organizations, including being a trustee of the Armington Fire Protection District for 33 years, serving as treasurer, served on the Armington Park District, was involved in the Tazewell County Pork Producers and was on the Tazewell County Service Board.Earl was a farmer for over 60 years, farming in the Beason and Armington area. He lovingly dedicated his long and wonderful life to being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His love of music and singing helped to brighten the days of his family, friends and caregivers, and he still had a beautiful tenor voice that delighted all who heard him sing. Earl was known for his storytelling and he spent many hours sitting in his recliner watching the birds at the bird feeders. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.We especially want to thank Earl's caregivers for the wonderful, loving, compassionate care that he was given during these last years of his life.A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at Minier Christian Church. Pastor Rusty Richards will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service, both at the church. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery in Armington.Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Hopedale is handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to the Minier Christian Church, Armington Rescue Squad or OSF St. Francis Children's Hospital in Peoria.
