Earl James Samanns Jr., "Bommer"
"Pop-Pop," died from lung cancer on
October 19, 2016 at home with his family and friends. He was born on December 14, 1950 in Reading, Pa., and married Linda Gehret on December 22, 1996.
Earl is survived by his wife, Linda, Stowe; daughter, Danielle Samanns; son, Earl James Samanns III and spouse, Suann, Hamburg; son, Herbert Samanns and spouse, Julie, Shoemakersville; daughter, Mary Jane Koch and Elliot Torres, West Reading; son, Corey Samanns and spouse, Guro, Trondheim, Norway.
Earl was predeceased by his parents, Mary Jane Goheen, Reading, and Earl James Samanns Sr., Leesport.
Also surviving are Earl's sisters, Regina Nice, Lancaster, and Barbara Sweigart, Frisco, Texas.
Earl was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Castle of North Carolina.
Earl and Linda also have 9 grandchildren.
Earl came from a family of military service and served
in Vietnam. He was proud to have his sons follow in his footsteps in the Marine Corps.
Earl was a foreman at Reading Tube in Leesport, Pa.
Earl most loved spending time with his family boating and swimming.
