Earlene Goodwin LynchJan. 04, 1929 - March 17, 2017TulareEarlene Lynch of Tulare Ca., passed away on March 17, 2017 at the age of 88. Earlene and her twin sister Geraldine were born on January 4, 1929 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Edith Vera Foster and Thomas Shelton Goodwin. After her twin sister's death in 1930, she and her mother moved to Arkansas to live with her aunt and uncle. Years later her family moved to California and this is where she met William (Bill) Lynch. She and Bill were married on July 27, 1944 in Reno, Nevada. After moving to Tulare, Bill built Earlene a little house of her very own next to her mothers, and this is where they raised their two sons, John and Tom. After their sons were grown and had families of their own, she and Bill became foster parents to two young boys. She and Bill lived in this little house together until his death in 1986. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her grandson Roger Lynch. She is survived by her two sons; John Lynch Sr. and wife Jill, Tom Lynch and wife Bettie. She is also survived by four grandchildren; John Lynch Jr., Stephen Lynch, Shannon Lynch-Elick, Beka Lynch-Pica and husband Joseph, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her four legged companion, Buddy.Grandma Earlene will always be fondly remembered for her chocolate meringue pies she baked at Thanksgiving, the colorful rosebushes that grew outside her front door, and for the beautiful handmade quilts and crocheted blankets she lovingly made for family and friends. We will cherish these memories forever. We would also like to thank the staff at Twin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation and Dr. Patel for their care during Earlene's stay, as well as the hospice care for their compassion and support during Earlene's final days.There will be a Graveside Service held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Ave., Tulare. Arrangements are entrusted to Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Home.
