It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Early McLendon, a beloved husband, father, and member of the Budd Lake community. Early passed away on September 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication.

Early was born on February 14, 1950, in Budd Lake, New Jersey. He grew up in this tight-knit community and embraced its values throughout his life. Early was known for his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and neighbors.

Early was a man of many talents. He had an innate curiosity that led him on various professional paths, and he excelled in each of them. He was an accomplished lawyer, known for his integrity and passion for seeking justice. Early's commitment to the law and his clients earned him the respect of his peers and the gratitude of those he represented.

In addition to his professional achievements, Early was a dedicated family man. He met the love of his life, Irene Hill Mosely, in college, and their love story unfolded over many decades. They were the epitome of a loving partnership, supporting and encouraging each other through life's ups and downs. Their strong bond served as a source of inspiration for their children, Early Jr., Yvonne, Ruth and Donald.

Early was a devoted father who always put his family's needs before his own. He savored every moment spent with his children, cherishing family vacations, game nights, and cheering them on during their achievements. He instilled in them the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience, ensuring that these principles would guide them throughout their lives.

Beyond his professional and family life, Early was deeply invested in his community. He actively participated in local organizations, always seeking ways to make a positive impact. Whether it was mentoring young lawyers, organizing charity events, or volunteering at the local school, Early's dedication to serving others left an indelible mark on the Budd Lake community.

Early McLendon was a man of great character, integrity, and compassion. His loss leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Irene; his children, his extended family, and countless friends.

In honor of Early's life and his commitment to justice, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in his name. Early was passionate about ensuring equal rights and protections for all, and supporting the ACLU would be a fitting tribute.

Early McLendon may be gone, but his spirit, love, and positive influence will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be forever missed and fondly remembered.
