Ed RobertsHOBART, IN: Ed Roberts, age 81, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his home in Hobart, Indiana from a brief illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 10, 1935 in Wayland, Kentucky to Albert and Ethel (Moore) Roberts. Ed lived the majority of his life in Ohio and worked through Ohio Union of Operating Engineers Local #18 where he was a lifetime member.He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Ima Jean (Gibson) Roberts, brother; Bill (wife;Jean) Roberts, and sister; Dorothy (husband; John) Brumfield. Surviving are two sisters; Marge (Vilas) Adams & Sarah (Jack) Baisden both of Harts, W.VA., three daughters; Pam (Dennis) Piwinski of Valparaiso, IN., Debbie (Bill) Stricker of Valparaiso, IN., & Sandy Roberts of Hobart, IN., three grandchildren; Samantha, Billy, & Ava, and many nieces & nephews. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Rev. Grover Caudill will conduct the funeral service on Thursday, June 15th, at 10:00 AM in the Martel United Methodist Church and burial will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery in West Virginia on Friday.
