Eddie Ray Austin, age 66, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, surrounded by his loved ones. Eddie, along with his twin sister, Jenneta, was born on July 15, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Earl Austin and Willie Pauline Austin; and his half-brother, Henry Merle Austin.He graduated with honors from Ouachita Technical College. His chosen field of study was Body and Fender, and then went on to obtain his CDL licensing. He was an honorary member of the Diamond Riders Motorcycle Club of Hot Springs.Eddie worked for Featherlite Manufacturing for more than 25 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting with Larry Graham, watching the Super Bowl with the Burrough brothers, Robert, Joe, and Johnny, and fishing with Mitizi Willding. Eddie's "happy go lucky' nature afforded him a sense of humor like no other. He loved joking and playing jokes on all of his nieces and nephews, whenever possible. He was a kind and humble soul; if there was ever someone in need he was always there to help in any way he could. Eddie celebrated life with his family and friends. Eddie is survived by his daughter, Jody Austin-Byers; his two grandsons, Javin and Jaaren, in which he loved dearly; his two brothers, Robert Earl Austin and Donny Lee Austin; his twin sister, Jenneta Gay Green; his nieces and nephews; several extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Pastor Stewart Briner officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby "Little Bobby" Austin, Michael Dick, Robert Burroughs, Joe Burroughs, Johnny Burroughs, Larry Graham, Doyle Lee, Shauna Allen and John Allen.The family of Eddie Austin would like to thank all of his family and friends for sharing Eddie's life and making memories that will last a lifetime.
