Edgar P. Middleton - SAVANNAH - Edgar P. Middleton, 81, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016. He was born on April 17, 1935 in Prince Charles County, MD. He was a graduate of Rochefort American High School in France, June 1954. He attended Glendale College and graduated Phi Theta Kappa, March 1969. Ed served in the United States Airforce, Amarillo, Texas specializing in Aircraft Mechanics Jet Engine. He worked for Autonectics Division of North American Aviation Inc., Farmington, L.I., and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace, Savannah, Georgia where he was in charge of the G-5 program. Ed, along with his family participated in metal detecting with Jimmy Sierra in England. They were known as American Detectorists and donated some finds to the British Museum. In honor of several unique finds, Archaeologist's on behalf of the British Museum named a local field after the Middleton's. He is survived by his devoted wife and loving family. Ed was laid to rest in the family cemetery of St. Mary's Church of Piscataway, in Clinton, MD.
