EDITH ADELINE LAMOREUX EDLER LENA - Edith Adeline Lamoreux Edler passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Lena Living Center. Edith was born on March 28, 1927 at 8 p.m. at the family's red brick house in Chadwick, IL. She was the daughter of Walter and Neva (Hardacre) Lamoreux. On December 31, 1944 she was married to Randall Simon Edler. They were married by her Uncle Elmer Machamer at her parents' home in Lanark, IL. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1995. Together they farmed for several years in Pearl City, IL. In 1960 they moved their family to Lena, IL. Edith was a 54 year member of the Lena United Methodist Church. She was a waitress for many years working at The Amber Lights in Pearl City, Polhill's Lena Q, Lena Golf Course and the Land Of Corn Restaurant in Lena. She attended the Lamola Beauty School and received her license as a Beautician, Edith and her daughter Margory started the Me's Magic Mirror which she operated for 36 years in her home in Lena. Edith enjoyed watching and raising her grandchildren over the years. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends and hand crafted many ceramic dolls. Surviving is one daughter, Margory (Michael) Liphart of Lena, IL; one daughter-in-law, Holly Edler of Freeport, IL; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Carl ) Griffin, Jamie (Wenelle) Sofran , Joell (Mike) Boeck, Tammie (Scott) Etheridge, Shane (Angie) Edler, Kelli (Jeremy) Kappes, Krista Jermone Hall, Chrystal (Clint) Bingham, Chad (Kris) Lobdell, Michelle Liphart, Chase (Jessica) Liphart; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Reba (Arthur) Canton of Rochester, New York. She is also survived by her special friends, Dave and Gale Harris of Clermont, Florida, and Merlene Erb of Lena, IL. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randall; four of her children, Raymond Lee, Kevan Paul, Michael Ray, and Scott Randall Edler; one granddaughter, Shawna; three brothers, Fay E. Lamoreux, Paul M. Lamoreux and Gail E. Lamoreux; and three sisters, Audrey R. Jaszewski, Ellen L. Hartman and Doris I. Orth. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Lena United Methodist Church in Lena. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. Pastor Brian LeBaron will officiate at the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for the Lena Food Pantry.
