Edith Katherine Williams, 87, passed away on Mother's day, May 10, 2015 at her home in Aegis Living, Ventura, California. She was surrounded by her loving children.Edith was born on August 29, 1927 in Bonham, Texas. Her parents were Elizabeth Pearl Fox Smith and Mosey Jack Smith. Her beloved grandmother was Ida Elizabeth Fox. Her father and mother owned a wonderful grocery store that served the community of Bonham,Texas. Edith's children all have many fond memories of Granddaddy's store.Edith had 5 siblings; Ray Smith, Helen Smith, Betty Jane Smith Zimmerman and Dorman (Buddy) Smith. They were a close knit family all of their lives. Edith was the last remaining member of that immediate family.Edith is survived by daughters Elizabeth Lynn Caporuscio and her husband Harry of Oxnard, California, Virginia Lea Williams Earl of Albuquerque, NM, Janet Ellen Williams Hyatt and her husband Roger Hyatt of Waynesville, North Carolina, Travis Tyree Williams and his wife Susan Williams of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Wesley Marlin Williams and his wife Christine Williams of Athens, Texas. Edith and Travis had lots of beautiful grandchildren, including Samantha Lynn Williams-Earl, Katherine Helen Williams-Earl, Dylan Richards, Cassidy Richards, Shawn Williams, Jack Williams, Bradley Williams, Abigail Williams, Justin Williams and Sarah Ann Voorhis. They also have a great-grandbaby Travis Williams.Edith, Travis and kids lived in Los Alamos since 1957, where our father Travis worked at Omega Site. Daddy passed away in 2006. Edith was active in many aspects of the community, including PTA, brownies and Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, golfing, bowling, the Cancer Society and so many more. She considered Los Alamos her home, and loved raising her family there. We know that many Los Alamos residents remember our wonderful mother. A celebration of her life was held at the Santa Fe Botanical Gardens in the South Ramada at 11 am on June 21, 2015.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alhzheimer's Association.
