JACKSONVILLE | On October 24, 2016, Edith Rebecca "Becky" Brown was peacefully taken into the arms of the Lord from her home, while being surrounded by her husband and children. Becky was born on December 18, 1945 to her mother and father, Madie and Eugene Maultsby in Delco, NC.Becky was the example of dignity and grace. She was a devoted wife and took great pride in her family. Becky was a hardworking business owner.Becky had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Over the years she was very involved with her church and looked forward to every Sunday with her Sunday School class.Becky was predeceased by her parents and an infant child. Becky is survived by her husband, Atlas H. Brown of 53 years. She is survived by one brother Steve Maultsby and his wife Sherry of Delco; she is also survived by her children, Jeffrey and his wife Kelley Brown of Jacksonville; daughter Allyson and her husband Richie Brown, Leigh and her husband Greg Warpole and her youngest daughter Audrey Britt and fiancé John Matthews of Jacksonville.Becky is also survived by nine beautiful and unique grandchildren who loved their Nanny dearly, Aaron Crow and wife, Crystal, David Brown and his wife Meagan, Lindsay Lawler and her husband Josh, Brittany Brown, Kaleigh Britt, Stevie Warpole, Tylar Britt, Taylor Britt, and Austin Brown. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Jayden, Alexis, Gavin, Emma, Carly, and Carter.Our family would like to express a special thank you for everyone in the community who has prayed for us and reached out with visits, prayers, and support over these last few mouths.The family will receive friends from 5pm till 8pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The funeral service will follow at 11am Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 with Rev. Terry Hinson and Rev. Drew Parker officiating at Blue Creek Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Onslow Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Blue Creek Baptist Missions Fund in memory of Edith R.
