Hanamann, Edna JuneEdna June Hanamann, 100, formerly of Casco passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at ThedaCare Hospital in Waupaca. She was born on June 28, 1916 to the late John and Alvina (Lawrenz) Bitzen. On September 8, 1951 she married Floyd Hanamann in Denver, CO. She graduated from Algoma high in 1934 and she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (1943-1945) where she was able to be promoted 4 ranks in her first year and leaving the service at the rank of Staff Sergeant. She farmed along with her husband and after 37 years of farming they retired and moved to the Dunbar area. While farming she also worked as a secretary for the Luxemburg-Casco area schools. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, sewing, crocheting and spending time with family.Edna is survived by her husband Floyd, her children Edward (Karen) Hanamann and Suzanne (Jerry) Guerzon; grandchildren, Derek (Laura) Hanamann, Blake Hanamann, Ashley Hanamann, Eric Guerzon, Elizabeth Guerzon; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Mya and Lane Hanamann; brother Emery (Judy) Bitzen; sister Eleanor Machut; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Bitzen and Ruth Kantz; brothers-in-law, Jim (Janice) Hanamann, Clarence Jerovetz; and many friends, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Jane Hanamann; brothers, Earl (Vi) Bitzen, Elroy Bitzen, Edgar Bitzen; sisters, Ethel (Earl) Glander, Elda (Ernald) Anderson, and Eunice (Russell) Hanamann; brothers-in-law Melvin Machut, Stanley Meadke, and Melvin Kantz; and sister-in-law Jean Jerovetz.Visitation was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luxemburg. Funeral service took place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carl Brewer officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military rites.
