Rinkcas, EdnaEdna Whiting Rinkcas, 94, of Ithaca, passed away December 08, 2016. She was born on January 13, 1922 in Ithaca, daughter of the late Edward and Guyda Whiting and was the widow of William E. Rinkcas. Bill and Edna had been married for 48 years. Edna was a lifelong resident of Ithaca and a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed helping others, being a homemaker and gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Goehner; her brother, Clair Whiting; grandchildren, Rebecca and Gregory Whiting. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and her dog, Abby. In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was also predeceased by her grandchildren, Sharon and Michael; her sister, Marlene Prouty and her son-in-law, Leslie Goehner. A special thank you to Sue at Cayuga Ridge and to Hospicare for all of the help and caring that you gave to mom. In keeping with Edna's wishes there will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
