ROY Edward John Roy passed away suddenly on November 11, 2016. He was born on January 21, 1949 to Richard Pentleton Roy and Patricia Pacella Roy (who predeceased him) in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated with a B.S. in Communications from University of Hawaii. Ed lived in Hawaii, New Jersey, Maryland, and relocated to Jacksonville in 2007. He was the owner of Ed Roy Media, a videography business and played drums in the group Flashback. He is survived by his daughter, Charity Roy O'Sullivan (Michael), beloved granddaughter Shane Cerisse O'Sullivan; sister Marcia Lynn Roy Graffius (Richard); former wife Rose Roy; niece Susan Lynn Powell (Tony) and nephew John Richard Gross (Aissa), and four great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Ed was a kind and humorous man who was blessed with creative musical and artistic abilities. His friends and family love him very much, and he will be greatly missed. Golden slumbers, Ed. A memorial service will be held in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin on Thursday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
