KENDALLVILLE — Edward Aaron Krause, age 82, of Kendallville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Krause was born on Jan. 29, 1933 in Brooklyn, Michigan, to the late August Krause and Mabel (Drew) Krause. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in Brooklyn, Michigan, and then continued his education at the University of Chicago until he obtained a master's degree. Ed worked in real estate as a property owner and manager for 15 years before retiring. He was very well known in the community for his involvement with the Republican Party and his membership at the Elks Lodge in Kendallville. Survivors include a daughter, Karen and Dan Seitz of Kendallville; three sons, Karl and Pat Krause of Kendallville, Kurt and Judy Krause of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kevin Krause of Chicago; a granddaughter, Brandy and Greg King of Kendallville; two grandsons, Justin and Naomi Krause of Kendallville and Casey Seitz of Kendallville; three great-granddaughters, Kierstin King of Kendallville, Abigail Krause of Kendallville and Kayla Morris of Kendallville; a great-grandson, Dylan Krause of Kendallville; and his spouse, Sally Krause of Kendallville. Ed was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Thompson) Krause; a brother, Ray McAulley; and two sisters, Nancy Campbell and Mary Jane Wagner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 120 Weston Ave., Kendallville. Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville is in charge of arrangements.
