Edward L. Orton, age 57, of Ripley, N.Y., died on Sunday December 4, 2016 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on February 13, 1959 to the late Homer A., and Margaret (Butts) Orton. Edward graduated Seneca High School in 1977 and formerly owned and operated Orton's Disposal. He was also employed by the Greenfield Township Municipal Building, Erie Waste Management, and Pros Trucking. Edward was a member of the MOPAR Club and enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycle, and spending time with his canine companion, Diesel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Orton, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patty (Bronson) Orton whom he married June 27, 1981; children; Sabrina Fisher (Gary) of North East, Eddie Orton (Megan) of North East, and Amy Mattocks (Matt) of Ripley; step-son, Nathan Eggleston (Samantha) of Ripley; a brother, Richard Orton (Kathy) of Erie; sisters, Donna Schultz (Edward) of New Columbia, Pa., and Betty Schwab (Mike) of Wattsburg; grandchildren, Mikol, Alexia, Garry III, Carter, Gabriellah, Gracelynn, Dominick, Myla, and Madi; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
