CHENEY-Hornbeck, Edward Lee "Bud" 87, passed away Sat. Sept. 24, 2016 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Ks.. Services will be on Sat. Oct. 1 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cheney First Assembly of God Church with the burial to follow at the Pioneer Ceme. Reception will follow at the Cheney Senior center. Edward was born on Feb. 28 1929 in Chanute, Ks and lived much of his youth in Hutchinson, Ks. He retired from Northern Natural Gas. He spent his retirement years driving for Kansas Public Schools and transporting Veterans He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by sisters; Mary Wedekemper and Norma Jean Bird, brother, James Hornbeck, and son Edward Joe Hornbeck. He is survived by his wife: Katherine, 4 children, Teresa Bonebright-Palmer of Hutchinson, Ks., Katherine Reed of Haysville, Ks. Sally Sooby (Mark) of Houston, Tx., Deann Hornbeck of Cheney, Ks. 12 Grandchildren; Christi Bessignano (Brian) of Denver, Co., Renee Mead (Jim) of Chicago, Il., Brian Bonebright of Hutchinson,Ks., Tahnya Claypool (Todd Homicki) of Costa Mesa, Ca., Taylor Andreas (Matt) of Lexington, Ky., Travis Cooley of Haysville, Ks. Tyler Sooby(Kelly) and Clayton Sooby (Felicia) of Houston, Tx., Monica Hass (LT Andrew) of Pensacola, Fl., Derek Sooby (Ellie) of Coppell, Tx., Mike Hornbeck and Cody Hornbeck of Denver, Co. and 5 great grandchildren.
