Edward Leon Lewis, 78, of Bardstown, formerly of the Lincoln Park Community of Washington County, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at the University of Louisville Hospital.A native of Washington County, he was born on Aug. 22, 1937, to the late Earl and Anna Lee Baker Lewis.He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.He was preceded in death by his wife, Martina Spalding Lewis on Aug. 17, 2009; two sisters, Orpha Walls, on May 1, 2009, and Martha Hellard on June 23, 2008; and five brothers, Bobby Lewis on May 10, 1974, Bruce Lewis on Jan. 30, 2001, Vernon Lewis on Jan. 5, 2004, Larry Gene Lewis on March 28, 2008, and Donnie Lewis on May 4, 2015.Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Lewis, of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Tyler Warren and Draven Warren; a nephew, Jerry Lee Lewis (Joy) of Chaplin; a sister, Jewell Holt of Bardstown and three brothers, Ancil Earl "Deanie" Lewis and Carl Lewis (Frankie) of Springfield and James "Buddy" Lewis of Chaplin; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Hood, pastor of the Brush Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.Pallbearers are Terry Lewis, Chad Lewis, Dave Lewis, Danny Walls, Ricky Lewis and Glenn Snider.Honorary pallbearers are Carl Lewis, James "Buddy" Lewis, Darrell Walls, Tyler Warren, Draven Warren, James Sims and Freddie Yates.Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
