It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Rogers, who was born on July 3, 1953, and left this world on July 13, 2024. He resided in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

Edward was the beloved son of Alfred Rogers and Evelyn Rogers. He was the loving husband of Carolyn Rogers, whom he married in the year 1973. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Fabriene Rogers-Brown (spouse Teddy Brown), Edward Lorenzo Rogers Jr., and Ebony Shenelle Rogers. Edward also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren.

Edward attended Las Vegas High School and graduated in 1972. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force before furthered his education at Howard University, graduating in 1990 with an Engineering degree.

Throughout his life, Edward wore many hats, exceling in various professions. He worked as a Social Worker, Entrepreneur, Mentor and Personal Chef before retiring in 2015. In his retirement, he dedicated his time to helping those in need through organizations such as The Blind Center, Salvation Army, Child Haven, and Three Square Food Pantry. His selfless acts of kindness did not go unnoticed, and he was awarded the prestigious James Beard award.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Edward proudly served in the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant.

Edward had many passions in life, including art, cooking, fishing, golf, and playing pool. He lived life to the fullest and brought joy to all those around him.

Unfortunately, Edward's journey on Earth was cut short by cancer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In honor of his memory, a celebration of Edward Rogers' life will be held on July 20th at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Rest in peace, Edward. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
