Edward J. Molina Ed Molina, 91, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 16, 1925 to the late Miguel Omena Molina and Amalia Clark Molina and was raised in Oakland, CA. His journey would later lead him to become a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. Ed was a proud
veteran of the United States
Army, where he served his country for 26 years in 3 foreign wars, World War ll, the
Korean War and 3 tours of the
Vietnam War. Over his expansive military career, Ed was honored with the
Bronze Star Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Medal of Good Conduct, and the National Defense Service Medal to name a few. Upon retiring from the military Ed would dedicate the next 40 years to a life of volunteer service to his fellow veterans through the
VFW Post #8550, DAV Post #10, American Legion Post #58, the United American Veterans Organization of El Paso and was honored to be a dedicated volunteer at the VA Clinic to include 14,387 volunteer hours where he was awarded the 12,500 hour Outstanding Service Pyramid Award in 2011. He is preceded in death by his late wife Emilia Molina, 2 daughters Margaret Gray and Renae Molina, and 5 siblings Barbara, Jenny, Rupert, Freddy and Helen. Ed is survived by his 4 grandsons Michael Molina Sr. (Joanna), Robert Heady Jr. (Cassandra) (Berkly), Zachariah Gray and Caine Gray (Shanda). 10 Great grandchildren Nichole (Kyle), Nathan, Robert lll, Renae, Santana, Seth, River, Michael Jr., Marlee, and Braycen. 5 Great great grandchildren (late Silas), Ivy, Kai, Nia, (late Rayshon) and many nieces and nephews that loved and adored him. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Eddie's lifelong friend and companion Mrs. Connie Parker, her daughters Patricia Bryant, Nora Servin (David) and their families for their unconditional love and support that they have showed him and our family. Visitation will be Wednesday Nov. 16, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm with the rosary at 7:00pm, at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Thursday Nov. 17, 2016 at 9:30 am at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with full Military Honors. A wake will follow the services at VFW Post #8550 at 4714 Titanic Ave., for all to gather in his memory.
