He was born on April 5, 1942 In Lancaster, Ohio to the late Russell and Ethel Smith. He was a retired tow motor operator for Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. with 41 years of service. Edward was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church where he also was the church organist and a Civil War enthusiast. He is survived by his daughters, Melanie (Carl) Culbertson of Lancaster, Ohio and Katherine (Jason) Harrison of Dresden, Ohio; grandchildren, Madison, Hailey and Keely Culbertson and Dylan Harrison; and a brother, Earl Smith.A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMB US ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place.
