Edward "Eddie" Wesley Hicks was born on May 1, 1935, to parents Flossie and Henry Hicks in Oakland, CA. He graduated from Marysville High School during 1951, and went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Sociology from Yuba College during 1953 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from San Jose State during 1955. Eddie was a member of the qualifying 4x100 meter relay Track Team for the Olympics during 1956 and 1960. He consistently officiated track meets and du to his dedication, commitment, and passion for the sport he was honored with several medals and awards. Eddie also played for the Raiders Football team, originally known as the "Gladiators." He was inducted into the Yuba College Hall of Fame in 2004 for Football, Track, and Basketball. Eddie was known for his larger than life spirit, forever-smiling face, and ability to make you smile with his encouraging words and sense of humor. He could light up any room that he entered. He loved to spend time with family, dance, listen to music, travel, and entertain; he definitely knew how to throw a party. Eddie peacefully passed away with his wife of almost 30 years by his side on Friday, November 4, 2016. He leaves to forever cherish his memories his Wife: Jila; Children: Michelle, Wesley, Steven, Christopher, Traci, Tori and Step Daughter Charlotte; Son-in-Law Kelly Miles; Grandchildren: Larry Donnell, Samantha, Tranice, Charles, Deanna, Jerrite, Jayda, Tamika, Trachell, Ahreana, Chris Jr., DaJuane, Alvie, Nikki, Chase, Jayden, Jake, Savannah, Annemarie, Alexander, Emily, Britney, Bethany; Nieces: Haleh, Valeh; Nephews: Dellery, Arash; Father-in-Law: Baba; Sister-in-Law: Jaleh; Brother-in-Law: Bijan, Calvin; and a host of Great Grandchildren, Great Niece, Great Nephews, God Children, Cousins and Friends whom he loved dearly.
