Basham, Edwin J.,92, of Louisville was born on August 16, 1924 to the late Audie J. and Anna Mae (Shaffer) Basham and passed from this life on Sunday June 18, 2017. Mr. Basham was a retired mechanic. During his career he worked for General Automotive supply, and was a former owner of a gas station and Ed's Automotive Machine shop. He was a member of Atwood Wesleyan Methodist Church. After his retirement he repaired lawn mowers in the neighborhood and was known as "The Lawnmower Man". In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Shultz) Basham and a brother, John Basham. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Viola Williams (Larry); a son, Roger Dale Basham; a step daughter, Coy Thomas (Jim); brothers, George (Rosemary), Kenneth (Lataine), and Robert Basham (LaVerne); a sister inlaw, Dorothy Basham; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Basham's life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
