Weigel, Edwin J.Edwin J. Weigel, 88, Marshfield, died on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Rembs Funeral Home where the family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 pm until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Edwin was born on February 11, 1929 in Marshfield, to Oscar Sr. and Tina (Weisenbeck) Weigel. He married Lorraine A. Dieringer on October 12, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. Ed had been employed at Marshfield Milling Company for 13 years and then at the Wood County Highway Department for 30 years. He enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine and their children, Judith (Harlan) Rose of Marshfield, Gary Weigel of Tripoli, Dennis Weigel of Marshfield, Dale Weigel of Anchorage, Jane (Robert) Amacher of Wausau and Glen (Julie) Weigel of Boulder Junction. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is further survived by 2 sisters, Patricia Passer of Wells, MN and Lorraine Fleisner of Marshfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Sylvester Weigel, Oscar Weigel Jr. and Herman Weigel, and 2 sisters, Jeanette Hilgart and Marian Redig.
