HARLAN — Edwin E. Miller, 96, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at The Cedars in Leo, Indiana. He was born on Sept. 4, 1919, in Paulding County, Ohio, to the late Eli and Sarah (Brenneman) Miller. He married Rosa Mae (Miller) Hochstedler on June 1, 1968, in Woodburn, Indiana. Surviving are his wife, Rosa Mae Miller of Harlan, Indiana; two daughters, Teresa (Rex) Williamson of Paulding, Ohio, and Leslie Hughes of Paulding, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Marilyn (Raymond) Foster of Auburn, Indiana; a stepson, Clifford (Dorie) Hochstedler of Sarasota, Florida; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Blair of Hicksville, Ohio, and Mary Ackerman of Hicksville, Ohio; and a brother, Albert (Betty) Miller of Van Wert, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Gerkens; a grandson, Joshua Williamson; a stepdaughter, Sharon Hochstedler; three brothers, Joseph, Mose and Eli Miller; and sisters, Lena Schwartzendruber and Mabel Lengacher. He farmed for 20 years, worked as a foreman and drag line operator at General Portland Cement in Paulding, Ohio, for 20 years and did construction until he retired. He was a member of North Leo Mennonite Church and enjoyed making birdhouses, gardening and fishing. He was a
WWII Army veteran where he specialized in the 123rd Radio Intelligence Co.. Calling will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Pathway Christian Church, 12732 Spencerville Road, Harlan, Indiana. Services will be on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior at the church with Pastor Murray Clugston officiating. Burial will be in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery, Leo, Indiana.
