Effie L. Conley (née Kea), late of Windsor, Virginia, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 28, 2023 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia.

Effie was born on July 22, 1941 in Isle of Wight, Virginia. During her professional career, she worked as a clerk/typist, receptionist, and accounting clerk. Effie was a dedicated servant of God who believed in the power of prayer. In 2008, she left her home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to live with her daughter Monique in Lexington, Kentucky to provide care for her granddaughter Danielle until Danielle graduated from college. She was an independent woman who was also smart, caring, and loved to help others, especially children. Her children, grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, and nephews greatly appreciated her love and humor, and she was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed music and laughing.

Effie is survived by her daughter Monique Morton Rice and her husband Paul; son Morey Renard Morton; son Miguel Bernard Morton; daughter Yasmin K. Abdullah; and brother James M. Kea and his wife Theressa. Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Butch) Conley and her son and nephew, Montez Kea.
