SIDNEY — Eileen Catherine Silvers, 96, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at 12:45 p.m. at Fair Haven Shelby County Home.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1919, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Nora (Swob) Harp. On May 4, 1941, she married Walter F. Silvers, who preceded her in death May 30, 1991.
She is survived by one sister, Mary (Aubrey) Huffman, of Piqua, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Emerson, Raymond and Donald Harp, and two sisters, Marie Locker and Helen Pohlschneider.
Mrs. Silvers was a homemaker, a member St. John's Lutheran Church, and long-time active member of the Hardin grange. She retired from Hardin School in 1980 as a cook, and enjoyed crafts and growing flowers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 120 W. Water St, Sidney, with the Rev. Jonathan W. Schriber officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
