Elaine Swank, aged 69, of Calgary, Alberta , passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025.

Elaine was born on December 20, 1955, in Kainai Nations Alberta, Canada to Dean Lopez and Sheryl Lopez. She married her high school sweetheart Jim Swank. They bought a home in Montana and often times you’d find them traveling back and forth, from Canada to Montana and sometimes Mexico. Elaine loved the drive.

She was a loving wife to Jim Swank and a devoted mother to her two children, Katy Swank and Luke Swank. Elaine was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was devoted to their well-being throughout her life. She adapted to many changes in life and technology with grace and understanding in her later years she was content and injected humor into many conversations. She appreciated those around her and always sought to build up, thank, and appreciate those in her life. She taught her family to serve others through encouragement and example.

Elaine survived by her husband, Jim;  two children Katy Swank and Luke Swank, her sister Louise Krom and brother in-law Kevin Krom; her sister Valeria Costilla and brother in-law Perry Lopez; as well as nieces and nephews, including Pearl Wing and Lawrence Wing, Melissa Wright and Loren Wright. Megan Jean-Baptiste and RoRo Jean-Baptiste, Caitlyn Wolf and Donald Wolf, Kayla Krom, Lisa Costilla, Anita Costilla and Brian Krom, Aaron Costilla and Hailey Costilla.

Elaine will be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to serving others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Elaine.
