Elaine Heavenrich Jacoby died of natural causes on December 17, 2017, at 102 years old in Los Angeles, California. 

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Jacoby-Miller; son-in-law, William Miller; and her 4 grandchildren, Robert and Nicole Heath, and Julie and Danny Miller. Her younger daughter, Anne Heath, predeceased her.

Elaine graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1937 with a degree in Sociology.  She was active in helping to found two synagogues with her late husband, Sidney Jacoby, whom she married in 1942.  She was also an active member of the National Council of Jewish Women and volunteered in the cause of helping to improve the Juvenile Justice System.  She was an avid reader and excellent tennis player.  In her later years, she enjoyed traveling the world with her good friend, Sue Maloney.
