Elaine L. Larson RACINE Elaine L. (nee: Lueke) Larson, 100, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Ridgewood Care Center. Elaine was born on October 31, 1911 in Gay, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (nee: Nordstrom) Lueke. She and her family moved to Racine when she was 10 years old. Elaine was united in marriage to George T. Larson on June 14, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. She formerly had attended Emmaus Lutheran Church many years ago. Elaine had been employed at the local telephone company and also at Ruth Karnes Bridal Shop. She had also been an active member of the St. Lukes Auxiliary many years ago. Elaine was a golfer for many years. She was a charter member of Shoop Park, and belonged to the Washington Park, Johnson Park and Ives Grove Womens Golf Clubs. Elaine is survived by loving daughter, Deb Szuhai; granddaughters, Jenni (Steve) Mai and Keri Haney; great grandsons, Jonathan, Nathan and Dylan. She also leaves a host of many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding Elaine in death were her husband, George on September 1, 1981; son-in-law, Steve Szuhai on March 19, 2009, and 8 siblings and their spouses, Charles, Nora (Al) Miller, Albert, Dorothy, Beulah (Ben) Hader, Howard (Marge) Lueke, Bill (Virginia) Lueke and Lois (Gilbert) Smittendorf. Friends and family may meet at the funeral home on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be private burial at Mound Cemetery with Fr. Jeff Small officiating. Elaine was blessed with wonderful caregivers the last two years. We would like to thank Pam and Linda and especially Michele from Societys Assets for special love and care given to Mom. We really give extra special thanks to niece Mary Small and nephew Fr. Jeff Small for providing an endless supply of love and assistance. We would also like to give thanks to the wonderful nurses and aides at Ridgewood Care Center for their gentle care given Mom in the week than she was there.
