Elauterio V. Carrasco, "E.V.", 85, of South 3rd Street, Loving, NM, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, TX. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving, NM. Father Pasala Hruday Kumar will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Military Honors performed by the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and continue up to the start of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at West Funeral Home. Services have been entrusted to West Funeral Home. Carrasco, more commonly known as ""E.V."", was born on August 30, 1931 in Malaga, New Mexico to his parents Salome V. and Teresa (Varela) Carrasco. On the 6th of June 1954, he married Francesca Acosta, of Loving, New Mexico, and started a family. E.V. worked as a professional truck driver for most of his adult life until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working on the yard and always looked forward to spring time to plant his garden. He loved fishing, hunting and going to casinos. E.V. is an Army Veteran who proudly served his country during the 1952 – 53 Korean conflict. Although he is no longer with us, the memory of him will live on in his family and all the friends he has left behind. He is survived by his wife, Francesca Carrasco: 3 sons: Salome A. Carrasco and wife Patricia of Lake Orion, Michigan; Orlando Carrasco and wife Terry of Aurora, Colorado and Mario Carrasco and wife Priscilla of Loving, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren: Jeffery Carrasco, Nicholle Carrasco, Esteban Carrasco, Christina Miller, Michael Carrasco and Christian Carrasco; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Brooklyn Miller. He has 3 surviving siblings: Isable ""Chavela"" Santos and husband Juan of El Paso, Texas, Elfida Armendariz of Kermit, Texas and Ernestina Gonzales and husband Teofilo of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by siblings, Emiteria Molinar and Elias Carrasco. He will be dearly missed, but we know he is in a much better place today.
