Elbert Benton Minor, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at McCrite Plaza Retirement Community in Topeka, Kansas surrounded by family. Elbert was born on August 17, 1926 to Elbert Monroe and Carrye Marie (Walkup) Minor in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of the Greater Kansas City area until moving to Topeka to be near family. His family includes his wife, Mary, of Topeka; daughters Sharon (Thomas) Bolyard, Kathleen (Richard) Selig and Melissa Lewis, all of Topeka; grandchildren: Lyndsay (Brad) Tindell of Topeka, Brandon Minor (Josh) Selig-Votaw of Overland Park; Jennifer Bolyard and Eian Benton Lewis of Topeka; and great-granddaughters Ryleigh Ann and Landry of Topeka. Visitation will be held 12-1 p.m., Thursday, September 29, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
