April 30, 1926 ~ Dec. 6, 2016Eldon Page Waite, age 90, passed away at his home in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.He was born on April 30, 1926 to Gerald Sessions and Selina Page Waite, in Bountiful, Utah.Dad grew up in Syracuse on the family farm. He graduated from Davis High School in 1944, and joined the US Navy. He served for two years during WW II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Dad married LaRue Hadfield in 1951. From this union two sons and two daughters were born, Kristine (Richard) Law, Roy, Utah, Craig (Mary), Morgan, Utah, Kerry, Salt Lake City, Utah and Lisa Castleton, Ogden, Utah. He and LaRue divorced and dad married Esta Lee Conway in 1970. Dad worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired in 1986. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family, working on Model A Fords, winters in Hemet, CA, and barbeques with his amazing neighbors in Salt Lake. Dad was a member of the LDS Church Ninth Ward in Salt Lake City.Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Lee, his parents, his siblings Faye, Lorraine, Max, and Melvin. He is survived by his children, his sister Wilma (Richard) Cowley of Syracuse and his step children, Pamela (Brent) Lundevall, Salt Lake City, Michael (Eva) Conway, Encinitas, CA and Sherry Orr of Longwood, FL. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, six step grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the following angels who were in dad's life: Angela, Calvin, Wednesday and Exley Hackwell, Kathy and Kelly Delgado, Joe Ikeda, Kelly and Chris Black, Lawrence Wunderly, Jeanette heard, Jim Beck, 9th LDS ward Rose Park, and Dignity Home Health and Hospice.Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rose Park 9th Ward chapel 760 N. 1200 W. Salt Lake City and on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
